We decided to go to southern Italy after several trips on the north of Italy, relatively easy way, especially when you go by plane. Our destination is Bari and nearby destinations. After we have arrived at the airport, we took the metro. The light metro station is on the exit of the airport and costs 5 euros for one person. The metro schedule is from 30 to 30 minutes. There are other ways to get to town, like: bus number 16, the cost of travel is 1.5 euro and the ticket directly from the driver. The station of this bus is in front of the airport on left, the schedule is from 30 to 30 minutes. And over 45 minutes you will arrive at Statione Centrale Bari. Another option is the Airport Express Shuttle, a blue van. You can take it from the same place as the bus, has the advantage of not making many stops on the route and it reaches with about 20 minutes faster than the bus. But the ticket costs more, than 5 euros per person. All transport variants go to Statione Centrale Bari.
From the station we walked quickly to the hotel, which was a five-minute walk. If you are planning to take excursions around the city then it is advisable to take your accommodation near the train station. But if you want to spend the whole stay in Bari then it is good to stay in the old town \\Bari Vecchia\\ for an unforgettable experience.
What to see and visit in Bari.
First of all is better to see the old town (Bari Vecchia) by walking, it is very beautiful and when you are tired you can stop to one of the many terraces, for a snack or a soft drink.
